Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What IS the Block Party?
A: The 'Block Party' is when I ask a bunch of knitters and crocheters to make 6" blocks or squares, and then we get together to sew them together into blankets which we send to orphanages and institutions in Ukraine. We also collect many other items which we sent over like hats, scarves, and slippers.
Q: What size do the blocks need to be?
A: 6 inches square
Q: Is it ok if they are a little bit bigger or smaller than 6 inches?
A: Yes, but try your hardest to get them 6 inches!
Q: What yarn should I use?
A: Any yarn, as long as it's washable the squares turn out 6 inches square.
Q: Do I have to send blocks to you early if I'm coming?
A: Absolutely not! If you are coming, just bring them on the 23rd, but please try to have them there by 10am.
Q: Do I need a border around my squares?
A: A single crochet border is preferred around them (while still maintaining the 6 inch size), but is not necessary. It just makes them easier to sew together when they do.
